There is plenty of things to do, despite the apparent reason why the city is always full on the weekend for its “coffee” shops.

Jump on a tram and explore; the canal is your first stop; if you get the chance, there are plenty of museums; there is even a handbag museum which offers an exhibition of ladies’ bags  as far back as the 17th Century

Whilst Amsterdam’s main source of income is tourism, it’s a city with a deep history so while you are visiting to experience the delights that it offers, it’s worth knowing that whilst it’s not illegal, it’s decriminalised..

Go with an open mind and embrace this beautiful city
