Its my Birthday today!

I am another year older and another year wiser….. My friends are more excited about  my birthday this year more  than me…..:)

Is that normal??? , as I find the older I get the less enthusiastic I am about celebrating another year in a loud kind of way !

This year was even more poignant as I completely forgot it was my birthday, as I lost the one person this year that made my life possible. I am forever grateful to my mum and this year will always be special to me  .

Don’t get me wrong, I am happy that I am another year older, as I belive that I am like a fine wine, “I get better with age”, I just don’t necessarily need to sing and dance about it anymore. I can still celebrate my birthday , but in a different style than in previous years.

As you get older, you like the refined way of doing things… flying off for your birthday with your girlfriends, checking into an exclusive hotel to have a pamper day with your girls, enjoying something decadent on your day… why????, because you can!

I am proud to say that I am in the age group with the saying “Life begins at 40”, and its awesome, at this stage in your life, you know where you have been and finally where you want to go 🙂  and the journey is just begining !
