19 Nov First Impressions……
Hello all,
So having been in Nigeria for 2 days, I would like to put a few myths to rest!!!!
Nigeria is a budding melting pot of people….. There is money here, yes like every 3rd world country it has its negative side, but not as bad as people make it out to be…..
I was told so much bullshit before I got here that I shouldn’t carry my phones, laptops or wear my jewellery as I would be mugged or kidnap or worse held by the police……
let me spell it out that is total crap!
I am a DIVA and since I have been here I haven’t toned down anything, I carry my cell, my ipad and wear all my jewellery….. Utter nonsense!
I am staying in Victoria Island which is like London City, so everywhere is secured…. Don’t get me wrong when I went to the mainland and was walking through ghetto I left my ipad at home, but I still had my phone and jewellery in plain site.
It’s amazing how people like to create propaganda, if you haven’t experienced the country, then don’t comment on it….people have it hard enough here without all the negativity created by western visitors.
The people here are friendly, yes they are on a daily hustle, but who isn’t!
My hotel is full of European businessmen, who live and work here, there are huge companies based here for the richness that Nigeria has to offer.
So having spent my day lounging by the pool, I will be introducing myself to some of my hotel guests and making some new friends, as I think they need to be introduced to “Missys World”
Until da next Tyme
