I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Korean food restaurant called “Golmok ,” based in Gravesend and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant, with its simple decor and friendly staff.

The menu was simple with small handpicked choices to choose from . I opted to try the bibimbap, a popular Korean dish consisting of rice, vegetables, and meat, all topped with a fried egg and a spicy sauce.

The dish was beautifully presented, with each component arranged artfully in the bowl. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with each ingredient contributing its own unique taste and texture to the dish. I also tried kimchi, a fermented vegetable dish that is a staple in Korean cuisine. It was absolutely delicious,needed more spice for me.

The service at Golmok was seamless and   excellent, with our server taking the time to explain the various dishes on the menu and make recommendations. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and inviting.

What was surprising was it was 2 staff, one serving and cooking and still preparing orders for Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

The restaurant capacity was small with only 20 covers at one time , so booking is essential

I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes on the menu!
