07 Apr Pathiri….
Nestled amidst the bustling streets of Gillingham lies a hidden gem of Kerala cuisine, Pathiri. Tucked away from the mainstream eateries, this humble restaurant offers a delightful escape to the flavours of South India.
Needing something to eat, I saw the recent promotion of the new restaurant, so I decided to indulge.
The decor is minimalistic yet inviting, allowing the focus to remain on the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen.
The Mango Fish Curry immediately caught my eye as I perused the menu. A fusion of fresh fish simmered in a luscious mango-infused sauce; it promised a unique blend of sweet and savoury flavours—a true testament to Kerala’s rich gastronomic heritage.
The succulent pieces of fish were perfectly cooked, tender and flaky, while the mango curry boasted a symphony of tangy notes balanced by the subtle heat of traditional spices. Each spoonful was a revelation, a burst of flavours that danced on my palate and left me craving more.
I opted for a chapati instead of rice and was glad I did; while it’s not a Michelin-star restaurant, the food offers make up for the simplistic decor.
I will visit again to get my taste buds open
Until da next Tyme
