Hubby and I recently visited The Hague and Rotterdam in the Netherlands, this is the quieter side to the Netherlands unlike the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam, describe the architecture of the Netherlands, the scenery
The train journey itself was a breeze, offering scenic views of the Dutch countryside as we made our way from The Hague to Rotterdam. The efficiency and punctuality of the Dutch rail system left a positive impression, making it a stress-free and enjoyable experience.
Upon arriving in Rotterdam, I was immediately captivated by the blend of tradition and innovation. The iconic cube houses, designed by Piet Blom, stand out as a testament to Dutch creativity. These quirky, tilted structures are a must-see, offering a unique glimpse into modern urban living. Exploring the interiors of these cubes was a fascinating experience, showcasing thoughtful design and efficient use of space.

The Markthal, a true architectural marvel, was a amazing to look at , with countless food eateries within its walls you will be spoilt for choice. The striking horseshoe-shaped building houses a bustling market with a diverse array of food stalls and shops. From fresh produce to international delicacies, the Markthal is a culinary haven for food enthusiasts. The aroma of spices, the vibrant colors of fruits and vegetables, and the lively atmosphere created a sensory overload that was impossible to resist.
Speaking of food, the culinary scene in both The Hague and Rotterdam left a lasting impression. Local cafes and restaurants offered a delightful array of Dutch specialties, from hearty stews to mouth-watering cheeses. The emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients was evident in every dish, providing a true taste of Dutch gastronomy.
