So I decided to head to Belfast for the bank holiday weekend with my girl Naureen. To avoid the drama of London and the Carnival taking place this weekend.

It seems that London has a new domestic airport that I thought I would check out…..

Welcome to SOUTHEND airport ……

Yes there is an airport in Southend, a mere 53 minutes from Liverpool street , and you are in gorgeous Southend…… Ok maybe not gorgeous, but its practical.

First impressions it is super small with just two departure gates and 4 check out counters.

However it does boasts a first class lounge, that at a mere £18 you can check in and relax on leather seats , use the Internet and get free snacks, it’s not a Virgin first class lounge, but for where it is, it does the job.

The layout of the airport, needs a lot more work, as they let you leave the safety and enclosure of the terminal to walk along a tunnel to the plane that is open to the elements and you still have to queue, so I wasn’t impress.!

However for a small airport it’s doable, but I would recommend only for domestic flights not anything in Europe or god forbid, International!!!!
