Do not constantly check your pockets in places that are well known for pick pocketing.

By checking your pockets to make sure your valuable are there, it allows pick pocketers to know where you keep your valuable. Many pocketers now put up signs warning you of things being stolen from you as a technique to find your valuables.

Just have secure bag or pockets to keep things in, and don’t carry too much at a time. It may seem like a backwards thinking, but trust me, by checking for your valuables, you’re just making it easier for someone to take your stuff!
